Is the Notebook tier really free? +
Yes. Free for any team or individual at a company under $10M annual revenue. Source available under BSL 1.1, which converts to Apache 2.0 after 3 years. You can self-host, modify, and use commercially within the threshold.
What happens above $10M revenue? +
You can still use Metriq, but you'll need to pay for either Pulse, Enterprise, or a commercial Notebook license. Most teams above that scale want Pulse or Enterprise anyway because they need always-on monitoring and SSO.
Can I use my own LLM API keys? +
Yes, on every tier. Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, OpenRouter, Ollama all supported. You pay your model provider directly. Metriq doesn't take a cut on inference.
Does Pulse use my LLM keys or yours? +
Your choice. Pulse can run on your keys (you pay providers directly), on hosted Metriq inference (passthrough pricing), or any combination. Token costs are NOT included in the $500/mo Pulse base; that covers compute, scheduling, and delivery infrastructure.
What does the Enterprise tier add over Pulse? +
SSO, audit logs, RBAC, SCIM, single-tenant or VPC deployment, indemnification, SLA, dedicated support, SOC 2 / HIPAA-ready compliance. Designed for regulated industries (finance, healthcare, government).
Can I self-host Enterprise features? +
Yes, on the Enterprise tier we ship a self-hosted deployment package. You operate the SSO bridge, audit log destination, etc., on your own infrastructure. We license the deployment per company.
